Local Information: Finally! Accurate Weather Data Again!
Posted by Wes on Friday, December 03 @ 18:00:28 EST (2780 reads)
Took some time, but we finally have all the sensors replaced in our weather station. Many other things were updated and upgraded as well. It looks like the data is flowing once again without a hitch. A special thanks to everyone that views this website and gives me regular updates on what they would like to see and anything that is actually wrong on the site. Please keep in mind, this is only a hobby of mine. No special funding comes in other than the few bucks for the banner ads. However, if you do want to donate some funding, please feel free. There are a few other devices I wish to add to our system. Hopefully before the summer time, I would love to get our very own lightning detector and the software. This would allow us to have live lightning data for our area.
Lastly, please help keep this site correct. If you see something that is either out of place, or just simply wrong, please hit the CONTACT US page and let me know.
Thanks again everyone! Hope you enjoy the site.

Local Information: Hurricane season (right?)
Posted by Wes on Thursday, August 06 @ 04:18:46 EDT (3652 reads)
Not that I am complaining or anything, but... Does anyone else think this is odd? We're into August and only 1 Tropical Storm has occurred in the Atlantic. Nothing in the Gulf. Oh yeah, right, forgot. Global Warming is the reason. My bad.

Local Information: New updates to the site.
Posted by Wes on Wednesday, February 04 @ 04:58:18 EST (3901 reads)
Chances are good you have noticed the changes made to the site recently. Today I set up the "REAL TIME" display. I say real time, but it actually updates every 5 seconds or so WITHOUT having to refresh the screen!
I made some changes to the weather maps. I chose Accuweather for the State, Regional, and National maps. The Warning maps now come directly from the National Weather Service (complete with legend now). The GAS PRICES map actually stays on the menu now.
We're pulling data from ALL kinds of sources now. Some maps now are from Weather Underground, NWS, USGS, and a few others.
Chances are there are still some problems lurking in the code somewhere, but as I see them, I will correct them. If you happen to see something that just don't look right, click the CONTACT US link in the menu and let me know!

Local Information: Local gas price map
Posted by Wes on Thursday, January 15 @ 22:58:01 EST (4380 reads)
We have a new menu section called Gas Prices. This is a map that will show local gas prices that are entered from users of gasbuddy.com. Gasbuddy also gets current prices from many other sources and they create a nice map of the area that shows what the gas price ranges are across the country. You can zoom in and out on the map. I set the default zoom to show more of just our area.

Local Information: Check out Be On The Look Out For
Posted by Wes on Thursday, September 04 @ 05:33:34 EDT (4660 reads)
Many people have asked what is "Be On The Look Out For"... The answer? We are a Florida based Corporation dedicated to finding missing children and other individuals. We have BIG plans, however, due to the lack of funding, we're re-evaluating how we're going to launch. I encourage everyone to visit the website and KEEP visiting it since it updates literally all hours of the day. We're going to be posting a very important and quite possibly something of high interest to the public soon.

Local Information: For the most part, Fay is done with us....
Posted by Wes on Sunday, August 24 @ 13:12:37 EDT (4184 reads)
Well, there are 2 things I have found that has come from Fay.. #1, we're no longer in a drought situation. After dumping as much as 33 inches of rain in parts of FL, this should take care of the drought in big ways. Now I wonder about the sink holes.... #2, Fay took out a lot of the election signs. I knew there was a reason I was hoping for a bigger storm. If she was just a bit bigger, she would have taken them ALL down.
